Who We Are

The people behind the builds.

What is Wicked Awesome Tech?

Wicked Awesome Tech is an independent hardware review and PC build guide site. We cover gaming rigs, AI workstations, crypto mining builds, and the components that go inside them — GPUs, CPUs, motherboards, memory, storage, cases, and peripherals.

Everything on this site is written by people who actually build and use this hardware. We test before we recommend, we update guides when prices and products change, and we call out bad value when we see it — regardless of who makes it.

Why We Built This

Most tech review sites are owned by large media companies optimizing for ad clicks, not useful information. We've been frustrated one too many times by guides that recommend components based on affiliate payout rates rather than real-world performance, or that haven't been updated in two years.

We built Wicked Awesome Tech because we wanted a resource we'd actually use ourselves — honest benchmarks, practical build guides at real budgets, and coverage of the categories that matter to builders today: gaming, AI/ML, and mining.

How We Test

Our GPU benchmarks use actual gameplay at 1080p, 1440p, and 4K — no upscaling, no frame generation, no manufacturer-supplied test data. CPU reviews include Cinebench 2026, Blender renders, and gaming FPS. Mining rig guides include real hashrate and efficiency measurements (MH/s per watt), not spec-sheet numbers.

For AI and workstation builds, we focus on what the compute community actually cares about: inference speed, training throughput, and VRAM requirements for real workloads — not marketing TFLOPS figures.

Affiliate Disclosure

Wicked Awesome Tech participates in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program that allows sites to earn fees by linking to Amazon.com. We may also participate in other affiliate programs.

When you click a "Check Price" or "Buy on Amazon" link and make a purchase, we may earn a small commission at no additional cost to you. This is how we keep the lights on and the guides free. It does not influence which products we recommend — we recommend what we'd buy ourselves.

What's Coming

We're actively building out the review and guide library. Planned content includes GPU and CPU hierarchy tables, budget gaming build guides at five price points, AI training rig configurations, mining profitability calculators, and in-depth keyboard switch comparisons.

If there's a build guide, review, or topic you'd like to see — send us a message. We read every one.
